奥运精神是什么？

      这是从阿登的博客上转过来的文章，谢啦！

      我理解奥林匹克精神是：非歧视，相互理解，和平，团结，公平竞赛，人的发展，和平社会，以及人类尊严。

       奥林匹克精神本身的尊严必须得到维护。它很难理解吗？是谁还要制造“通俗的说法”呢？

　　今年是奥运会举办年，再过四年，2008年奥运会将第一次在我国举办，关注奥运，关心体育，已成为我们生活的一部分。

　　近日，我读了贵报6月10日第3版“奥运火炬在京传递”一文,文中写到“更快,更高,更强”是奥运精神，这与我们的《小学社会课堂自学手册》课本中所讲的奥运会精神的内容是不一样的，课本中说奥运会精神是：和平，友谊，进步。对于以上问题，我曾问过身边的一些同学和师长，有的说课本上的答案是正确的，有的说报纸上写的正确，有的说两种说法都对。我希望你们给我一个正确的答案。

         就此问题,记者采访了国家体育总局宣传司，有关人员向记者介绍说，“更快，更高，更强”是奥运格言。关于奥运精神，并非只有一个固定的答案。

　　“根据奥林匹克宪章,奥林匹克的宗旨是：通过开展没有任何形式的歧视并按照奥运精神——以互相理解,和平,友谊,团结和公平比赛精神的体育运动来教育青年，从而为了建立一个更加美好的世界做出贡献。”这就是奥运精神的原始注解，而我们现在关于奥运精神的说法大都是在借鉴此奥林匹克宪章后通俗的说法。

Fundamental Principles of Olympism

1 Olympism is a philosophy of life, exalting and combining in a balanced whole the qualities of body, will and mind. Blending sport with culture and education, Olympism seeks to create a way of life based on the joy of effort, the educational value of good example and respect for universal fundamental ethical principles.

2 The goal of Olympism is to place sport at the service of the harmonious development of man, with a view to promoting a peaceful society concerned with the preservation of human dignity.

3 The Olympic Movement is the concerted, organised, universal and permanent action, carried out under the supreme authority of the IOC, of all individuals and entities who are inspired by the values of Olympism. It covers the five continents. It reaches its peak with the bringing together of the world's athletes at the great sports festival, the Olympic Games. Its symbol is five interlaced rings.

4 The practice of sport is a human right. Every individual must have the possibility of practising sport, without discrimination of any kind and in the Olympic spirit, which requires mutual understanding with a spirit of friendship, solidarity and fair play. The organisation, administration and management of sport must be controlled by independent sports organisations.

5 Any form of discrimination with regard to a country or a person on grounds of race, religion, politics, gender or otherwise is incompatible with belonging to the Olympic Movement.

6 Belonging to the Olympic Movement requires compliance with the Olympic Charter and recognition by the IOC.
