September 20 My internshipI have stated my internship from September, now two weeks pass… At most of the time, I am not busy at all; my supervisor is a very kind Bangladesh woman, and my college in the same bureau is an Australian, very charming woman, speaking French, English, and German very well, really impressive. In fact, i have to speak french with my supervisor, because I don't quite understand her english, and my English become terrible since I have lived in Paris for more than one year, my english is terriblely affected by French now....By the way, all the ladies in Unesco are all well dressed, some africains even prefer to wearing their traditional costumes, it is quite spectacular to watch the "fashion show" every day. First day of my internship, I just discovered that people left office very early at 5 o’clock in the afternoon, and my college can leave at even 4 o’clock. (Because of a special contact signed between her and the organisation.) The second impression is that the average age here could be very old, who I met in the canteen everyday are the forty and fifty years old men or women…I can't help wondering that how expensive the retired system is in this institution. Given that most of the staff start their career at least 30s, or even older, it could be possible that the total number ofo retired staff could surpass the number of effective working staff . The food are generally good, but still expensive . However, I enjoy very much eating in a place where we can see the Tour Effel from just 200 meters away. The only thing interesting in the first days of internship is the desserts in lunch. How delicious they were… Story continues... |
